Enmore was known for producing Demerara rum, which is a type of rum made from molasses that has been distilled in traditional wooden stills. The distillery was famous for its wooden Coffey still, which was used to produce the famous "Enmore style" of rum. The Coffey still was a unique feature of the distillery, and it was one of the few stills of its kind still in operation in the world.
Enmore rum was highly sought after by rum connoisseurs, and it was known for its complex and rich flavor profile. The rum was aged in oak barrels for several years, which added depth and complexity to the overall profile.
In 1993, the distillery was closed, and the remaining stocks of rum were sold off to various buyers. However, the Enmore still was purchased by the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) company, which still produces rum using the Enmore still as part of its "Heritage Stills" collection. The Enmore still is now located at DDL's Diamond Distillery in Georgetown, where it continues to produce some of the finest rums in the world.
