Booker's 2022-04 "Pinkie's Batch": Master Distiller's Insights
--- Fred Noe, Beam Family 7th Generation Master Distiller
This unique batch comprises whiskey from four different production dates, each aged in distinct warehouses. The barrel storage distribution for this batch is detailed as follows: 47% from the 3rd floor of warehouse Z, 36% from the 4th floor of warehouse 1, 11% from the 4th floor of warehouse X, and 6% from the 5th floor of warehouse Q. The resulting color is a captivating golden amber, which glows when held to light. Its aroma, a harmonious blend of brown spices and vanilla, hints at the flavors to come. The first sip introduces the signature vanilla flavor of Booker’s, leading to a satisfying and well-rounded finish. This batch, a tribute to my grandfather Frederick Booker Noe, would have been a favorite of his and my father’s, especially during a football game.
Label Inspiration Booker's Batch 2022-04, known as "Pinkie's Batch," is the fourth release of the Booker’s Bourbon 2022 Collection. It honors my grandfather, Frederick Booker Noe, affectionately nicknamed "Pinkie." Pinkie, though not directly involved in the bourbon industry, had a passion for it. He served as the vice president of a local bank and was an avid bourbon enthusiast. Outside of his professional life, Pinkie was a keen golfer and an outdoorsman with a love for hunting, often accompanied by my father. These activities were more than hobbies; they were avenues for bonding and sharing passions across generations. As you enjoy Pinkie’s Batch, I invite you to toast to the legacy of Frederick Booker Noe, and appreciate this bourbon as he surely would have. Cheers!
