In the heart of Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca, generations of the Angeles Carreño family have devoted their lives to the art of mezcal, crafting each batch with tradition and care since 1898. Today, Real Minero’s legacy of authenticity lives on in a rare selection brought exclusively to Healthy Spirits. Our private bottling is a tribute to the enduring, hand-selected magic of mezcal, combining four distinct agave varieties: Sierrudo (A. americana), Barril (A. karwinskii), Cuishe (A. rhodacantha), and Coyota (A. lyobaa).

Each agave, aged from 12 to 20 years, is carefully cultivated or harvested from the wild, yielding a blend of extraordinary depth. These agaves are baked in a traditional truncated conical earthen oven, infusing each sip with a signature smoky earthiness—a warm, lingering essence from the open flame that honors the land and tradition. This smoke is balanced by a mineral brightness that shines through, a gift from the volcanic soil of the Central Valleys, bringing a crisp, vibrant note that’s both clean and refreshing.

Master Palenquero Edgar Angeles Carreño oversees every step, letting the agaves ferment with wild, ambient yeasts in Sabino wood vats, which lend the mezcal an elegant layer of herbal and floral undertones. Hints of green herbs and delicate flowers play gently in the background, adding complexity and balance to the smoke and minerality. Twice distilled in Filipino-style clay pot stills at a bold 48.6% ABV, this mezcal is bottled at still strength, preserving its raw essence.
